Pink Sakura

Pink Sakura was made by sewing three layers of white broadcloth together with curved lines which converge at the point where the yellow color is most prominent. The yellow paint was applied from the back, allowing the paint to seep to the front along the sewing lines. The pink paint was then applied. The sakura bead was painted pink to blend with the background color. Other glass beads were added and then it was hand-quilted to a painted stretched canvas. This quilt was an experiment in color and technique using simple materials. It measures 12" x 12".
